    FTP Proxy Server

Where do I get the ftp port and IP address?  Is this a nirvanix storage node or my client PC that I want to ftp from?

     Thanks,

    Phil

    Re: FTP Proxy Server

The FTP Proxy acts as a standalone application that lets you connect FTP clients to it.  The proxy then communicates with Nirvanix to do the file operations.

The general flow is pictured below.  You would setup the FTP Proxy running on your server machine and you could leave the port to 21 and the IP as 0.0.0.0 when you install and then connect to the Proxy using your ftp client.

You can download the FTP Proxy installer at:

Let me know if you have any trouble.

    Re: FTP Proxy Server

While the FTP Proxy has been tested for functionality and under some load, no stress tests have been performed.  This application is intended as a jumping off point and should be reviewed and tested under the conditions you intend to use it.  There are a number of things that could be done to make the server perform better, such as Partial file HTTP Uploads and using Rest rather than SOAP.
