    Virtual URLs

Virtual URL Hosting is a method whereby a Nirvanix customer can choose to allow Nirvanix control of an internet-accessible sub-domain (or in rare cases, a root domain).  This enables Nirvanix URLs to be replaced with the new address, thereby masking the Nirvanix name from various internet requests.

For example, if Joe owns the domain “joe77.com”, Joe can build the NS-Rec for “storage.joe77.com”, pointing at the Nirvanix domain servers.  Nirvanix will create CNAME records for “storage.joe77.com”.  This will allow “services.storage.joe77.com” to be used to in place of “services.nirvanix.com”, as well as all other Nirvanix sub-domains.

All Virtual URLs must be set up in the Nirvanix Management Portal (NMP). Please note that there is a onetime setup fee of $200 and a monthly charge of $20 for each virtual URL you set up.

For more information, please read our API documentation.
