Supported Audio / Video Transcode Formats

It would be extremely helpful to know which formats are supported by the Audio/Video transcode feature. Can you post a list?

    Thanks,

    Adam

    Thanks for your patience.

Below is the list of supported file formats. The specific codecs supported are still undergoing heavy evaluation and will likely change so I do not want to provide you information that starts you down a path that we then have to change.

That said, are there any specific formats & codecs that you are looking to support or that would be especially useful to you? Any feedback or input you can provide will definitely have an impact on our review.

Yes, I agree H.264 (+ double pass)... plus can you ensure we have faststart enabled on the .mov / .mp4 files so we can stream them without downloading the full file. Plus it will really help if we have control over the profiles for h.264/mpeg so we can target ipods correctly.

Also, it would be nice if we had control over the video bitrate.. the flash quality is too low. Plus it looks like the old flv format, on2 would be better - or just make your mov/mpeg compatible with Flash 9.

I figured out the problem. You can't have spaces in the file name. Ex. John and Jane.avi or John and Jane.flv won't work so I need to write an "if" statement to clean those types of files. Same for extracting frames.

Make sure you are encoding the values you pass.  For spaces you would replace the space with a %20 if you are using an http GET call.  If you are using an HTTP Post call you should not need to escape the values.
